To show off all all the best of ALDI we had a private dinner with Carla Hall at her Brooklyn restaurant Carla Hall Southern Kitchen using ingredients and recipes from ALDI's #MakeHolidaysHappen campaign. The night began with a cocktail reception featuring wines, all different types of cheeses (my favorite being the smoked gouda), and meats. I probably could have just filled up on the prosciutto, but i did stop myself as we had a ton more food coming! After a quick demo from Carla showing how she created her Chicken Pot Pie Waffle recipe, we sat down for even more deliciousness that Carla made with ALDI ingredients and recipes. These holiday inspired dishes included a Chicken Pot Pie Waffle, Pineapple Glazed Ham, Squash and Baby Kale Salad with a Bacon Vinaigrette, Brussel Sprouts, Scalloped Potatoes, Croissant Bread Pudding, and an assortment of cookies you can find at ALDI.
The best part was that the meal didnt end there that night, as I was sent back with a HUGE goodie back from ALDI. I thought id be able to save some of the cookies and crackers for my own holiday parties, but too many late nights out led to everything being gone within a week. WHOOPS! Guess its back to ALDI for more! And whats cool too is that they are always bringing in specialty items, so I never know what amazingness I'm going to find when i go back.
