So much NYC Restaurant news this week! Here are the highlights of what you need to be eating this April! This is part of this week’s new episode of the “Let Me Tell You Why” podcast, which you can listen to in full below.
Fish Cheeks
Fish Cheeks is launching a new “Cheeky Hour” happy hour at both locations, Noho 12-5pm, and Williamsburg 12-6pm! Included in the specials will be a $45 seafood tower, $14 cocktails, and $12 wines by the glass.
Good Days
Good Days is a New American restaurant in Williamsburg and they are launching a brand new brunch and happy hour menu! Included is a Japanese sweet potato latke, a croque senor with serrano ham, guaca and cheese blintzes, and a griddle cake with cinnamon maple butter! For happy hour they have $12 glasses of wine, a cocktail of the day $2 oysters, and more!
Oyatte
Oyatte is the new tasting menu restaurant from highly acclaimed chef Hasung Lee, formally of The French Laundry, Atomix, and more! The restaurant opens May 5th and will focus on farm drive cooking, all built around a relationship with a single upstate New York farm.

Buba Bureka
Buba Bureka is teaming up with actor Jake Goldberg to launch a special Jake Shakshuka Bureka which will be filled with a rich, spiced tomato sauce, and a soft jammy egg! It’ll launch on the menu starting April 22 for $10

Oncheon
Oncehon the Korean wellness restaurant is launching a new summer menu on May 1st with items such as a raw marinated seafood plate, bulgogi potato pancake, basil soba noodle with chicken nanban, and an almond perilla cold noodle dish.

NYC Hot Sauce Expo
The NYC Hot Sauce expo returns April 25-26 in Industry City! There will be 50 of the countries best hot sauce makers, along with food trucks, craft drinks, and spicy eating challenges.

NYC Craft Beer, Wine, & Spirits Festival
Taking place Saturday April 25, is the NYC Craft Beer, Wine, and Spirits Festival where you can get a taste of them all, and chat with brewers, distillers, and winemakers. The gave me a link so you can guys can save 30% OFF CLICK HERE

Yappy Hour Dog Adoption Event
This Saturday April 18th, The Penny Williamsburg is teaming up with Badass Animal Rescue for a Yappy Hour and adoption event. From 12pm to 2pm in the courtyard, you can adopt a dog, and from 12pm-4pm you can get drinks at the elNico rooftop bar and $1 from every signature cocktail will be donated to the rescue organization.

Kama-Asa Brooklyn Workshops
From April 21-April 25, to celebrate the 1 year anniversary of Kama-Asa inside 50 Norman in Greenpoint, they will be hosting a number of different workshops you can sign up for! April 21 is an onigiri workshop (must be booked in advance via Resy here) , April 22 is a dashimaki tamago workshop (must be booked in advance via Resy here), April 20 is a knife sharpening workshop (must be booked in advance here), and April 25 is an in store demo with Balmuda.

Tao Autism Awareness, Acceptance, & Inclusion Month
This April, Tao group is highlighting the 11th annual Autism Awareness, Acceptance, & Inclusion Month with limited time “blue” specials that will supports Autism Speaks’ “Light it Up Blue campaign.” When you order those specials across their 23 venues, 10% of the proceeds will be donated to a number of different charity organizations. For just a taste of what to expect those specials include a wafu carbonara at Sake No Hana, and a lobster rigatoni at Cathedrale.
