Brunch Boys List: Definitive Bagel Rankings

One might guess that our endless brunching yields the consumption of endless bagels. Some bagels, though, seem to really have our hearts more than others. Not all bagels are created equal, and yes we have a favorite. And there will absolutely be no Rainbow, Unicorn, Glitter, or any other kind bagel of that type on this list. Although variations in Cream Cheese are acceptable!

1) Everything

Everything bagels obviously reign supreme in our bagel ranking because they have, well, everything. Crunchy, bitter poppy seeds, the spicy crispy onions, and the salty crystals make for each bite to be a perfect, yet different, bite from any toasted everything bagel.

2) Egg

Yes, the weird looking, overly vibrant egg bagel has made the list, and come in 2nd place! Egg bagels are good because they have the simplicity of a plain bagel and can go with anything but had a little extra added bitterness and saltiness from the egg yolks. Definitely not our go to, but it’s a key contender.Brunch Boys pro tip; go for the Egg Everything Bagel!

3) Sesame

Sesame comes in third because since you’re not having a compilation of toppings here, you need one that can stand on its own. Of all toppings, sesame has enough flavor without leaving your mouth overly dry. They add a nice nutty-ness and are much smoother than other seed, so they are easily a brunch boys favorite.

4) Cinnamon Raisin

Although we typically like our bagels dense with savory favorites, a good, warm cinnamon raisin hold a place in our hearts. The chewy raisins and moist swirls of cinnamon bring us back to our childhood days, before decadent brunch spreads had taken over our repertoire.

5) Plain

There is absolutely nothing wrong with a plain bagel. You know no matter what you add to the bagel, whether it be savory, or sweet, its going to taste amazing! Our favorite addition? Definitely with some Lox and Cream Cheese
