Dream NYC Taco Collabs, 2 Night Golden Diner Special Menu, + Avenue is Back?! On Deck 5/17

So much NYC Restaurant news this week! Here are the highlights of what you need to be eating this May! This is part of this week’s new episode of the “Let Me Tell You Why” podcast, which you can listen to in full below, which has me going through and reacting to America’s favorite bagels, the answers will shock you!

Golden Diner

Golden Diner is teaming up with Houston restaurant Agnes and Sherman for a special two night only collaboration. May 21-22, they have special dishes like a savory scallion waffle, eggs foo young, cheeseburger fried rice, and cumin lamb neck taquitos!

Tompkin Square Bagels

Tompkin Square Bagels are launching a pizza bagel collab with Carmine’s! Each week in May will be a different variation of the bagel, all made with Carmine’s sauce. There will be a traditional with mozzarella, roasted peppers, caramelized onions and fresh basil, Vodka Chicken Parm with vodka sauce, chicken cutlet, mozz, pecorino romano, ricotta, and pesto, a Spicy Soppressata on a rosemary garlic bagel with marinara, soppressata, mozz, pecorino romano, and a hot honey drizzle, and finally the Eggs in Purgatory is a fra diavolo, mozz, pecorino romano, chicken sausage crumble, hot honey, and a fried egg.

Papa Dogs

Papa San is launching Papa Dogs, a hot dog cart that will be available at the corner of 34th and 10th ave every Tues-Thurs from Noon until 230pm, all for $5.

Santo Taco

To celebrate their one year anniversary, Santo Taco is launching a special Summer of Steak collab series, partnering with NYC’s best meat spots for special tacos. They will include Peter Luger on May 16, Keens June 10th, Katz’s June 23, Delmonico’s July 16, Smith and Wollensky Aug 13, and Gage and Tollner Sept 10.

Alice

Alice has launched a brand new bar only burger, the Alice Burger! On a house made brioche bun, they add a patty with a custom blend of chuck, brisket, and short rib, aged cheddar, caramelized shallots, ketchup, and mustard, and those come with fries served with a truffle mushroom aioli.

Utopia Bagels

My favorite bagel shop in NYC, Utopia Bagels, is opening their fourth location this May, coming to Midtown East on 52nd and 3rd ave this weekend.

The Lookup at Kixby Hotel

In the shadow of the Empire State Building is The Lookup Rooftop at Kixby Hotel, which just opened for the season. They have brand new items like a Biggie Mac Quesadilla, Truffle Grilled Cheese, Street Corn Nachos, and a ice cream “tenders”.

Avenue

Tao is bringing back Avenue! This time itll be at the Edge at Hudson Yards, on the 101st floor as Avenue Sky Lounge!

Maison Premiere

Maison Premiere has launched a brand new brunch menu! Highlights from the menu include a lobster benedict, steak tartare, dirty rice with eggs that include shrimp, ‘nduja, and okra, and a french toast that has caramelized sugar, bananas, creme chantilly, and using a Japanese milk bread.
