Every MUST EAT Hanukkah Special in NYC

It’s that time of year again, Hanukkah season! Whether you celebrate or not, it’s the perfect excuse to dive into the best holiday Jewish eats. From crispy latkes to sweet sufganiyot, here’s where you can find all the festive favorites across New York City.

12 Chairs- 12 Chairs will have latkes available either plain, with sour cream, or with labneh and smoked salmon. They will also be serving a schnitzel latke which is a chicken schnitzel coated in shredded potato and fried! And they will have sufganiyot and lighting candles every night at 530pm.

Breads Bakery- Sufganiyot are back at Breads Bakery again with the specials flavors this year being chocolate, mango, pistachio, strawberry, and vanilla! They will also have latkes which you can get as single orders, half dozen, or dozen, all with sour cream and a homemade apple sauce.

Dagon- Dagon will be running Hanukkah specials for dinner Dec 14-22 where you can order latkes with a ton of different toppings: horseradish yogurt, smoked salmon, silan and ginger applesauce, lamb ragu, sweet and sour harissa sauce, tahini and amba, and a shug. Plus a special sufganiyot for dessert that will come in chocolate, pistachio, or halva.

Daily Provisions- Daily Provisions is making a special sufganiyot cruller which is covered in lemon sugar, and filled with a raspberry jam! It’ll be available all 8 nights!

Edith’s Sandwich Counter- Edith’s has once again partnered with Peter Pan Donut, and is serving a a strawberry sumac schnecken sufganiyot! Of course you can always order their square latkes, and my personal favorite totkes, as well!

Gertude’s- Starting December 14th, Gertrude’s will have a special pre-fixe menu for 2 that will include parker house rolls with a duck butter and pickles spears, leafy salad, a choice of their brisket bourguignon, half chicken, or mushroom spaetzle that will come with 2 latkes, and 2 jelly sufganiyot for dessert! It will be $70 per person!

Hen House- If you don’t want potato latkes, Hen House actually has falafel latkes for you! These come with three sauces: an amba sour cream, harissa apple sauce, and tahini!

Katz’s Deli- Katz’s has a full kit with all the classics to serve about 4 people! Included in their package is 1lb of pastrami, 1 pound of brisket, 2 quarts of matzo ball soup, 1 quart of sour pickles, 1/2 loaf of rye bread, 4 knishes, 8 mini latkes, 1lb of noodle kugel, jar of mustard, and an Old World chocolate babka! Kubeh- Kubeh is serving Hanukkah specials for dinner and brunch 12/12-12/21! For dinner they will have three different latke toppings 1 with spiced apple sauce, labneh, and zahtar, one with shrimp chickpea, tomato, and leche de tigre, and one with mushrooms, a paprika tahini, and chermoula. They will also have sufganiyot stuffed with raspberry jam or nutella.

For brunch their three latkes are going to be Latkes with poached eggs, smoked salmon, and harissa labneh, latkes with poached eggs, avo, roasted tomato, and a benedict latke with poached eggs, bacon, and a harissa labneh, and finally latke with hanger steak, eggs, spicy yogurt, and chermoula.

Mesiba- Mesiba has a special “vodka latke cart” where for $15pp you can get 3 latkes each, vodka, a $30 upgrade to creme fraiche and black diamond caviar, and you can spin the dreidel to win free shots!

Mile End- Mile End has a “Latke Flight” for $30 with 5 different latkes! First is their Mont Royale which has sour cream, smoked salmon and fried capers, then whitefish mousse, duck confit “blt” with duck bacon, confit tomato, and a maple aioli, a hummus and miso glazed eggplant latke, and finally a chopped liver (either chicken or mushroom) latke topped with pickled carrots, daikon, and cilantro. They will also have sweet potato latkes available for catering orders, and in limited quantities on the menu.

Miriam- Miriam has their classic chickpea latkes (which are actually gluten free!) back on the menu alongside a number of different toppings you can choose from: labneh, smoked salmon, salmon roe, and applesauce. They will also have house made raspberry sufganiyot! Both are available for dinner, and as packages for delivery or takeaway

Misi Pasta- Misi Pasta is adding their own Italian twist to their latkes by serving them alongside a rosemary apple butter and a whipped ricotta! They also have bombolini filled with a blood orange cream if you want some fancy sufganiyot! They are up for pre-orders and you can get them delivered or picked up Dec 14,15, and 16 only. Orwashers- Orwashers will have their classic sufganiyot on the menu as a 1/2 dozen r single order, all covered in powder sugar and filled with raspberry jelly. They also have the classic black and white cookie in more Hanukkah colors, blue and white! And these are available in either mini or large sizes! Pre-Order Here

Russ and Daughters- Russ and Daughters has a Hanukkah Deluxe package which includes everything you need to celebrate! It has 12 latkes, applesauce, 2 bags of gelt, 1/2lb of smoked salmon, sour cream, and even a box of Hanukkah candles! Pre-Order Here
