Tucked just off busiest stretch of Main Street in Flushing, Queens is the New York Food Court where you see the beating heart of immigrant New York at work.

Opened in 2014 its packed with mom-and-pop stalls serving food from all the regions of China, and all over Asia! The place can be a little chaotic, I took a few laps, and kept doing more research on what to try, but its so so special, and truly the ability to be transported around the word by just going to Queens, is what makes New York City so special!

Am I the perfect person to lead you on this journey? Definitely not! I think sometimes its too easy for me to go for the more familiar dishes, but I will do what i always do, read as much as i can, watch what i can, have my eyes and my nose guide me, and I was even helped out my someone from Taiwan who eats there all the time! This is just scratching the surface of what you can try, so I think a trip back is definitely necessary!

Xiang La Ju- I am a sucker when I see someone making fresh dumplings and buns, so I immediately gravitated towards Xian La Ju! And I couldn’t resist the made fresh to order Pan Fried Pork buns which are massive, plump, crispy, and really chewy! $7.99

Lanzhou Hand Pull Noodles- I have to strategic with what I order, so I can try as much as I can, and the Lamb Burger from Lanzhou Han Pull Noodles caught my eye! Inside of this toasted chewy bun is a lamb mixture with cumin, peppers, and jalapenos! The aromatics were incredible as the it wafted into your nose, it had just the right amount of heat, and I loved how all the flavors soaked into the bread! $7

8090 Taiwan- I didn’t know where to go next, and then the kindest older gentleman came up to me and started telling my how much he loved this food hall, because it was such a great representation of the food he grew up with in Taiwan, and this was one of the only places he trusted. I obviously had to get a recommendation from him, and he sent me to 8090 Taiwan for their Taiwanese Style Steak which comes with steak, eggs, noodles, corn, broccoli, either a mushroom or black pepper sauce, and a side salad and iced tea! This thing comes out SIZZLING! You have to watch the video to get the full experience! And then they had warned my about the heat level in the black pepper sauce, but I thought it was very manageable!

$27 + $5 you will get back when you bring them back your tray
