The Miami food scene just gets better and better every time I come for a visit! The city’s culinary landscape blends beloved classics you can’t skip with a wave of innovative new restaurants, where some of the country’s top chefs serve everything from high-end tasting menus to casual street eats. Miami’s unique blend of Latin, Caribbean, and international influences means every meal is an adventure-especially when you’re soaking up that famous Miami sun!

Listed below are 5 of my favorites for a great day in Miami, but want to see the other 30 spots? Plus download a google map with each listed? Checkout the substack linked below

BREAKFAST

Tinta Y Cafe- A Cuban cafe favorite for nearly two decades, Tinta has my favorite breakfast sandwiches in Miami! You can't go wrong with their Noche Entera, Bori Breakfast Sandwich, Breakfast sandwich, or if you are in more of a lunch mood, the Madurito is insanely good!

BRUNCH

Chugs Diner- This Cuban fusion diner is Michelin Bib Gourmand recognized and puts some fun modern spins on classic diner dishes! When I was there I got their coffee-lemonade, latkes that are made with the root veggie malanga, a lechon hash, and also their cast iron pancake! The pancake is UNREAL! It's basically the size of a cake and is slow cooked in the cast iron with clarified butter, which gives it a crispy exterior and super fluffy inside! It's also swimming in a warm maple syrup and topped with butter and salt! It's a must!

LUNCH

Abbale- Everytime I’m in Miami, I’m going to Abbale for brunch, sitting outside, and eating some of the best Mediterranean dishes in the city! You can’t go wrong, but some of the must orders are their crispy cauliflower, lamb kefta arayes, and their tahini hummus with jammy eggs with either their soft fire baked pitas, or Jerusalem bagels!

DINNER

Joe’s Stone Crab- Joe’s is such an iconic part of South Beach, and you have to experience a meal here at least once! Maybe I wasn't a fan so much of the stone crabs themselves, but everything else I really liked! The $8 half a fried chicken has to be the best deal at almost any restaurant! And don’t skip some key lime pie at the end!

Tam Tam- When you hear “Miami Hot Spot,” a laid-back Vietnamese restaurant might not be the first thing that comes to mind, but Tâm Tâm is redefining the scene. This unassuming downtown eatery has rapidly become one of the city’s toughest reservations to snag, earning national recognition from Bon Appétit as one of America’s best new restaurants and a coveted Michelin Bib Gourmand distinction. The best thing on the menu had to be their Lamb Wrap Situation which wraps in a bele leaf lamb, banh hoi noodles, cucumber, lettuce, scallion oil, bean curds, and herbs!
