So much NYC Restaurant news this week! Here are the highlights of what you need to be eating this June! This is part of this week’s new episode of the “Let Me Tell You Why” podcast, which you can listen to in full below, which has me talking about my problem with the bandwagon New York Knicks fans, my reaction to Trump potentially ruining the season, and a review of 007: First Light.
Le Sixth
Le Sixth is the new restaurant from Michelin starred chef Phillipe Orrico, opening in Greenwich Village. The menu is a mix of French technique with global influence where you can order a la carte, or indulge in a 5 course “discovery tasting menu.” Some of the highlights include a red tuna tataki, foie gras creme brulee, croque monsieur, and a roasted chicken.

Sandwell
Sandwell has a new summer special the “Bawlmer Crab Roll, Hon” which has a cold blue crab salad, warm Maryland crab dip, and old bay seasoning all inside of a housemade bun, that then gets caramelized. It will be on the menu atleast through July 4th!

Salt & Straw
Salt & Straw is launching a new chef series lineup for flavors that will be available until June 25th! Chef Dan Barber has a starling sweet potato buckwheat crumble, Chef Brady Ishiwata Williams has a cheesecake salted yuzu curd, Chef Mei Lin has a Hong Kong milk tea with toasted white chocolate, chefs Alex Meyer and Luciana Giangrandi have a chocolate caramel smoked budino, and finally Chef Gregory Gourdet has a caramelized plantain with spicy pecan toffee.

Bar Blondeau
Bar Blondeau has a Chefs in Residence series that will be going on all summer, each for one weekend only. June already took place with Chef DeVonn Francis, but on July 4 and 5, Chef Jack Coghlan teams up with Chef Matthew Reade, two Brits taking over the Independence Day, and Aug 1 and 2 sees Chef Rey Lopez comes back to NYC with his mix of Mexican cooking and fine dining background, Sept 12-13 has Chef Isabel Garcia, and finally Oct 3-4 has chefs from Mon Petit Canard.

Alidoro
For the month of June, Alidoro teams with Grillo’s Pickles for a popup all month long at all Alidoro locations, brining back the Il Sottaceto sandwich which has herb roasted roast beef, provolone cheese, crispy coleslaw, and a spicy housemade Grillo’s Hot Pickle Russian dressing.

MacDougal Street Mambo
On June 20th from Noon-7pm, some of the best restaurants are coming together for an epic block party! On time of live music, entertainment, and giveaways, the restaurants involved will be Roscioli, Dame, Hamburger America, Emmett’s, Charlie Bird, 12 Chairs, Croft Allet, Raku, and Pastapooks!
