I was back in LA, and of course in a city as large and diverse as the city of angels, there are endless incredible restaurants to eat at! Here are 11 new additions to my full LA travel guide, including pizza, sushi, Korean, breakfast burritos, and more. BUT See the full list of all 71 places in the guide below!
Belle’s Bagels- Belle’s is a classic Jewish deli, with some modern twists, and a dream menu for me! I didn’t get the bagels, although they did look pretty legit, but instead went for lunch and got the matzo ball soup, latkes, and their tuna melt that comes on a griddle rye with tuna salad, pickled fennel, and either sharp cheddar or American cheese, of course I went American.
Budonoki- This Japanese-ish izakaya has become one of the hottest restaurants in LA! Definitely in for a fun meal here, in this dark, cool, sexy space with inspirations from not only Japanese food, but Thai, and French as well! I loved the make your own spicy tuna hand rolls, Naem is a dish the chefs mother used to make and sell, which is a fermented Thai pork sausage with crispy rice, and a herby slaw, that you make into a one composed bite, and you have to order an oshizushi too, I got the dragon roll and loved!
Dunsmoor- The cornbread here will change your life, but the rest of the wood fired southern inspired dishes were greats as well! I started with a trio of raw dishes, kobe beef tartare, bluefin tuna toast, and baby albacore, which were all full of texture, and acidity. Black mussels were great too, but THE DISH is the sour milk cornbread with white cheddar, hatch chili, cultured butter and honey.
Found Oyster- With inspiration from New England oyster bars but a laid‑back East Hollywood energy, Found Oyster mixes seaside tradition with West Coast vibes. They take reservations, but we walked in and waited about 30 mins to sit, but got some wine, and was able to enjoy the beautiful night before sitting at the bar for a few treats. The bub and grandma’s bread plate was this beautiful sourdough which we added anchovies too, the Sicilian crudo is a must, and that night it came with ocean trout and yellowtail, and the fried oysters I could not stop eating!

Jaime Taqueria- 5 breakfast burritos on the menu, all cheese encrusted, and all available every single day! Each one has a layer of crusty melted mozzarella, and eggs, and then a choice of just cheese, bacon, carnitas, birria, or filet mignon, and that’s followed by adding queso fresco, avo, and tater tots! The whole thing then closed with more cheese, to seal the whole thing together! I went bacon, and birria, and omg the consume that comes with the birria was unreal!
Jilli- This has to be the most fun Korean meal in LA! From the team behind some of the best Korean fried chicken sandwiches ever, Chimillier, comes Jilli, what they deem a “modern sooljib” or drinking place! They want you to drink, have a fun time, and of course eat amazing food! We basially went through most of the menu, but some of the standouts were the shrimp toast, uni tteokbokki, rigatoni all kimchi vodka, and the pork jowl jeyuk!

Langers- An absolute classic, you must go here, and you have to order the #19 pastrami sandwich! Better than Katz’s?? Maybe…And don’t hold back, order those fries with even more pastrami on top! And of course I’m getting latkes too.
Ohana Superette- Poke in LA is a must for me, and Ohana is Silver Lake absolutely satisfied! They have a small menu with some a few pokes, and few musubis and banchan, and i got the ohana shoyu tuna poke that comes with a house made soy ginger marinade, chili flakes, green onion, white onions, sesame seeds, and sesame oil.

Owa Sushi- Owa is right on Abbot Kinney in Venice, and is a buzzy and fun sushi spot with great cocktails, sake and some really interesting pieces! Crispy rice was great, the tuna love roll was a standout, but I could not stop eating their Sapporo shrimp that are Sapporo beer battered popcorn shrimp that come with this gochujang spicy mayo! Def more fun sushi meal than high end sushi.

Quarter Sheets- This hot spot in Echo Park has some of the best pizza and desserts in LA! If you can snag a rez, inside has a more full menu, but with that being incredibly difficult, you can do what I did and get there at 4:45 to line up for their 5pm open, and grab some pizza and treats to eat right outside! All square pies, I LOVED the tomato which was super simple with just red sauce, garlic, basil, and olive oil, but the crust was fantastic, and the sauce was so tangy, acidic, and sweet! But then DO NOT skip dessert, the chocolate cream pie with a dark chocolate custard, brown sugar whip, and chocolate curls was truly so so special.
Saffy’s- Bavel is my favorite restaurant in LA, so I was psyched to get to their little sister restaurant Saffy’s in East Hollywood finally. And it does kind of feel like its little sister, very similar menu, which means I adored every bite from their wood fired oven, and very similar vibes, but it is hard to tell you why to go here rather than Bavel, but if there is one dish that was worth the entire experience, it’s their grilled lobster skewer, which is also their best seller. Lobster tail is cut into chunks and cooked on a skewer with harissa, herbs, and a serrano-lime yogurt. This brought the heat and i loved it! I also got the hummus and green tahini, their endive salad, and the wood fire shawarma plate.
